Farrah Fawcett was born Ferrah Leni Fawcett on February 2 1947 in Corpus Christi Texas United States. As an American actress she became a noted pop culture figure and sex symbol of the 1970s, and into the 1980s she was one of the landscape shapers of fashion and pop culture. She played the role of Jill Munroe in the TV series Charlie's Angels in 1976. Her swimsuit poster had a still unprecedented 12 million copies in sales. She became popular for her mane, smile, and figure. Fawcett achieved critical praise as a serious actress and her first Emmy Award nomination for her role as a battered wife in the 1984 TV film The Burning Bed. Farrah was also acclaimed for 'Extremities' stage and film version, where she portrayed the role of a rape victim who got back at her attacker. She then appeared in Small Sacrifices in which she received an Emmy nomination for the second time. Her third Emmy nomination came in 2004 for The Guardian . Fawcett has been nominated for several others awards including the Golden Globe Award and ACE awards. Fawcett also graced Playboy's December 1995 and July 1997 issues, which became instant hits and best-sellers.
