Goldie Jeanne Hawn, born November 21, 1945 in Washington, DC, is an American actress, producer, and director aside from being an Academy Award winner. Goldie is known for starring in successful movie comedies in the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Her daughter, Kate Hudson, is also a popular, Oscar-nominated actress. Meanwhile, her son, Oliver Hudson, is a movie and TV actor. Hawn began her career as a cast of the comedy Good Morning, World during its 1967-1968 television season. Her next role brought her to international recognition. It was as one of the regular members on the 1960s sketch comedy show, 'Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In'. She appeared in three popular films in the late 60s and early 70s: 'Butterflies are Free', 'There's a Girl in My Soup' and 'Cactus Flower'. Hawn won an Oscar Award for Best Supporting Actress for Cactus Flower (1969). It was her first film role and it co-starred Walter Matthau and Ingrid Bergman. Hawn remained popular in the 70s and 80s, appearing in many comedy films, and she moved into film production too. She was respected as a comedy actress and was nominated for an Academy Award as a Lead Actress for her role in 'Private Benjamin' (1980). It was one of a series of popular comedies that she had appeared in. She also starred in 'Foul Play', 'Best Friends,' and 'Bird on a Wire'. She starred with Bruce Willis and Meryl Streep in the 1992 film 'Death Becomes Her'. She also played as an aging actress in the successful 1996 movie, 'The First Wives Club' with Bette Midler and Diane Keaton. She also directed a film for TV, 'Hope' (1997), which starred Christine Lahti and Jena Malone. Hawn has been in a relationship with actor Kurt Russel since 1982.
